minimalism phase one

1) Minimalism: the minimal use of color, shape, line, and texture. It generally leaves interpretation up to the viewers. 2) I think the first image is a really nice example of minimalism because there are not many components to it which makes it very appealing to look at.  3) I think this image is a good example of minimalism because everything is sharp and clean with solid, bright colors that clearly distinguish what the image is.  4) I think this image is a great example of minimalism because there's a blank canvas with little to no color and then there is a splash of red with the bench which freshens up the image and keeps it interesting.

     This change in viewpoint verifies my original interpretation of the the piece, seeing as I thought it was a billboard to begin with. This image, from the perspective of image 3, shows the billboard in all of its entirety. His piece is a blown up image of girl that looks rather sad, and almost as if her eyes have no expression at all. The girl is a ghostly white color, her skin looking as if its lost all pigmentation. Since the image is very large, it naturally draws people's attention to it, commanding that they really take in the image. And it is most likely by a place that a lot of people pass by, so it reaches a lot of people. I think it is one continuous image based on how smooth and seamless it appears to be. The location looks like it is industrial like it is based by a port or docks so maybe it is supposed to reach that type of audience. The overall image feels powerful like it is supposed to have an impactful effect on your emotions. I think the title means t...
