semester 1 reflection

QUALITY OF WORK

I think my quality of work first quarter was a mix of things I am proud of and things I could have done better on. Most of my assignments I am proud of because I genuinely loved the topic of the assignment, but for the topics I didn't love as much the effort I put into my work suffered. There were sometimes when I would get off task, but I tried to correct that and not waste too much time. I think moving forward I can start improving the strength of the concepts of my work. In second semester, I am going to try to put more effort into my assignments and over all try to build and develop my concepts more. 

EFFORT

Over all, I put a lot of effort into most of my pieces and when my effort slacked off a bit it is definitely noticeable in the pieces I turned in. I generally stay around the requirement for index prints, I at least make sure that I have enough to satiate the minimum amount required. I'm going to try to put more effort into my pieces throughout the entire block period moving forward. I also want to put more effort into improving the composition of my pieces from now on. In 2nd semester, I am going to try to just make more of an effort in every aspect of this class, because I think I always have room to improve. 

PARTICIPATION

I participated in every assignment, but I definitely think that I could've taken the subject matter a little further, and tried a little more. For shooting assignments, I would always shoot my photos with a mix of different subjects to see if one idea would be better than the others. I think I can improve on how compelling the images I take are by participating a little more in each assignment. Moving forward, I can try to participate even more to make sure the pieces I turn in are even better.

IMPROVEMENT

I think I definitely have room to improve on turning my assignments in on time, because for the most part I did a good job of that but there were times that I hadn't submitted my work on time. Sometimes I might have avoided topics that I thought would be too difficult to photograph, but moving forward I want to challenge myself more and more. I'm also going to work on improving how much time I am working in class. I want to improve on how much confidence I have when taking pictures, so they can be even more in depth. In second semester, I'm going to try to improve on all of these over all.

ADJUSTMENT

I know that I could focus on adjusting the actual images I take to improve how they look over all. i want to adjust how risky my photos are, whether that thats conceptual or just technical. I also want to adjust how I have missed classes in the past and try my best to miss as little as possible. I want to start figuring out my style of doing and for it to start showing in my work. In second semester, I want to really focus on discovering my style as a photographer. 

PART TWO

Maybe we could do a panoramic assignment and have it either be a landscape we love or filled with thing we love and enjoy.
